DH Shipbuilding posts 26.8% margin in Q1, maintains strong profitability trend
DH Shipbuilding reported strong first-quarter results for 2026, achieving one of the highest profitability levels in the shipbuilding sector.
The company recorded revenue of KRW 308.3 billion and operating profit of KRW 82.6 billion. This translates into an operating margin of 26.8%, continuing its high-profit performance from recent quarters.
The result marks the sixth consecutive quarter with margins above 20%. The company said this reflects a shift from volume growth to higher-quality earnings.
DH Shipbuilding has steadily improved profitability since late 2024. Operating margins have remained consistently strong, establishing a new performance benchmark.
The company has already achieved around 30% of its total operating profit from last year within the first quarter. If this trend continues, it is expected to deliver another record year.
A company representative said DH Shipbuilding remains committed to shareholder returns. Since its listing, it has distributed 20% of net income through dividends and share buybacks.
The company also reported strong order activity. It has secured contracts for 13 vessels so far in 2026, already exceeding its annual target.
With more than three years of backlog in place, DH Shipbuilding said it will focus on selecting high-value projects to sustain profitability and long-term growth.
