Ocean Alliance launches CBX service linking Asia to Jacksonville

The Ocean Alliance has introduced a new direct container service connecting Asia with Jacksonville Port Authority.

The weekly Chesapeake Bay Express (CBX) service is operated by CMA CGM, COSCO Shipping, Evergreen Marine, and OOCL. The first call in Jacksonville is scheduled for May 2026.

Expanded Asia–US connectivity

The CBX rotation includes ports in Vietnam, China, South Korea, and Japan before transiting the Panama Canal and calling key U.S. East Coast ports, including Jacksonville as the final stop.

This direct link improves transit times and routing flexibility between Asia and the U.S. Southeast.

Strengthening terminal operations

Cargo will be handled at the SSA Jacksonville Container Terminal at Blount Island. SSA Marine will provide stevedoring services at the upgraded facility, which features a 47-foot deepwater channel and expanded capacity.

Strategic gateway for trade

As the last U.S. port of call, Jacksonville offers advantages for export cargo and equipment repositioning.

Jacksonville Port Authority continues to invest in infrastructure, including a project to increase air draft clearance at Blount Island by the end of 2026, further strengthening its role as a key trade gateway in the Southeast United States.
